A highly accomplished professional with over 15 years of experience, I specialize in entrepreneurship and enterprise development, climate change adaptation, business leadership, and the implementation and auditing of management systems for quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental standards. My career spans large private and public sector institutions across Botswana, South Africa, Nigeria, the African continent, and the global stage, where I have consistently demonstrated strong business acumen and a commitment to sustainable development.
Currently, I serve as a Project Consultant for the EntreprenHer Program under UN Women, in partnership with De Beers Group and implemented by Botswana’s Ministry of Youth & Gender Affairs. In this role, I work closely with micro women entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, focusing on strategically positioning their ventures to enhance resilience to climate shocks. This initiative aims to empower women-led businesses to navigate and thrive amidst evolving environmental challenges.
My contributions to climate adaptation programs are extensive. I have played a pivotal role in the African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP) – YouthADAPT, funded by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA), African Development Bank, and Climate Investment Funds, and implemented by AfriLabs. As a Training Facilitator for Climate Change Adaptation Enterprise Development, I supported the scaling of 20 enterprises across Africa to build resilience against climate shocks through innovative strategies. Additionally, I serve as a BDS+ Advisor and Trainer for SEED’s Catalyser and Accelerator Programs, where I facilitate the growth of eco-inclusive and climate-smart enterprises.
Previously, I held senior roles at prominent organizations such as the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) in Botswana, the Institute of Development Management (IDM) in Botswana, Siyakha Consulting in South Africa, and the Botswana Government. These positions allowed me to contribute to policy development, enterprise support, and capacity-building initiatives that fostered economic growth and sustainability.
Beyond my professional roles, I am deeply committed to mentorship and leadership in global sustainability efforts. I have served as a mentor for the UNIDO Global Cleantech Innovation Program (GCIP-Nigeria), Stanford University’s Next Steps Program, and the Women in Renewable Energy in Africa Mentoring Program, organized by IFC’s Women in Renewable Energy in Africa Network (W-REA) in collaboration with Energy2Equal and the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET). I also mentor for GWNET’s Clean Cooking Category and act as a Global Mentor for the 2025 Women in Clean Cooking (WICC) Mentoring Program, a joint initiative by the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA), Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), and GWNET.
In addition to mentorship, I have contributed to entrepreneurship development by serving as a judge or jury member for prestigious competitions such as Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH), the Women Digital Entrepreneurship Program (WDEP) in Nigeria, the University of Botswana’s Business Clinic Entrepreneurship Development Program, and AfriLabs’ Climate Change Youth Adapt Challenge.
I also provide consultancy services in the implementation and auditing of management systems, including quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental standards. Through strategic partnerships with organizations like InnoLead Consulting-Africa and Digby Wells Environmental, I have facilitated Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) workshops for executive and management teams. For instance, I recently guided DeBeers Global Sightholder Sales and Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB) in reviewing the scope and context of their SHE frameworks to align with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards in preparation for re-certification.
My academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Finance and Control from Amity University, a Bachelor of Sciences in Agricultural Education from the University of Botswana, and certifications in Business Management from The Association of Business Executives and Vocational Education and Training from Quality Skills & Frameworks Consultancy. With a unique blend of expertise spanning entrepreneurship, climate change adaptation, management systems, and education, I remain dedicated to driving transformative impact across industries and communities, fostering sustainable growth and resilience in an ever-evolving global landscape.
