Ndeye Seynabou POUYE is a women’s rights activist and social development specialist of Serer ethnicity and originally from the Kaolack region, a peanut basin located in the South-East of the country. Holder of a master’s degree in project management and a degree in international business, her professional experience quickly shifted towards entrepreneurship through her education because her mother continued to instill it from a young age. age the notions of autonomy and financial independence.

After working in a company, she was driven by her courage and decided in 2018 to launch her company which operates in the field of distribution of local agri-food products called Eria Distribution company in Senegal, which later became Eria Senegal group Sarl in 2022.

Her passion for women’s and youth entrepreneurship, her concern to contribute to women’s rights and their empowerment led her to set up in 2019 a social project called Faadev (Active African Women for Development).

FAADEV supports young girls and women by bringing together their common strengths to support economic growth. It aims to promote the empowerment of women and young people through economic models based on agriculture, renewable energies and digital technology. Today, thanks to technical and financial partners such as the EU, UNESCO, UNDP, among others, the association’s patrons and volunteers, more than 1,500 women and young people have been empowered and/or financed.

Furthermore, Seynabou worked as a training consultant in Leadership and personal development in the QualiSolaire Senegal program initiated by nadjibi group SA in partnership with the Cfpt Senegal Japan and the Pdcej.

She is a co-trainer and mentor in the Connexions Citoyennes 2 program which contributes to youth participation and citizen control of public action by promoting knowledge of civic tech while strengthening the capacity of actors and actresses to implement and promote innovative initiatives.

Seynabou is active on several national and international platforms such as Working Group 1325 on peace and security in the Sahel and founding member of the West Africa Youth Forum on the SDGs.
