The U.S.-Africa Trade Commission (USAfriTC) is the leading advocacy organization representing American and African top companies doing business across the aisle. Conceptualized almost 8 years back, the USAfriTC is the premier non-profit, non-government organization which serves as the key liaising body representing African and American business and enterprises having business interest in the two respective trade zones.
Africa’s current population of around 1.2 billion is projected to double over the next 30 years, making Africa an exception in a world of slowing population growth. Moreover, it will soon be the fastest-urbanizing region in the world. Africa already has as many cities with more than one million inhabitants as North America does, and more than 80 percent of its population growth over the next two decades will occur in cities (Interactive 2). The income per capita of Africa’s cities is more than double the continental average, making them attractive markets for many businesses.
USAfriTC has set a goal to help navigate the seeming maze of doing business in these complex environments. We promote the interests of our member’s businesses while cooperatively working to establish an environment and economic climate for success in the business community in USA and Africa. The USAfriTC liaises with local/bilateral chambers of commerce to promote our member’s interest.
The Trade Commission maintains a team of experts to help drive and to meet the challenges and goals, its pro-business agenda and the mission with which it was established. USAfriTC works to achieve these objectives by means of activities, services and lobbying, such as networking events, trade and investment information, business development opportunities, etc.
